Basic pay scale in Pakistan

2011

Basic Pay Scales (BPS)/Salaries of Government Servants(Civil servants) in Pakistan

Though there are also some other Pay Scale Systems in prevalent in Pakistan besides basic Pay Scale Structure (BPS) but BPS is widely used pay scale system in Pakistan. Most of the Government ministries/Departments and Organizations follow BPS System. Special pay scale or SPS and army scales are examples of other pay systems in Pakistan while private organizations/companies are free to make their own pay structures while Government fixes a minimum salary of any private/corporate employees.
BPS scales are regularly revised after every few years, normally after four years. Previously these were revised in 2008 and now after three years these are again revised in 2011 keeping in view the inflation rate in Pakistan.
BPS pay structure table is as follows.

Percentage of women in Pakistan

Male female ratio or percentage of women as compared to men in Pakistan is 51:49 .
It means that women are 51% of the total population of the country while men are 49%.
It is but marginally difficult for women to find suitable mate here while in so many countries this ratio is very much disturbed due to many factors including wars and men are far less than women.

Human development index of Pakistan

Human Development Index(HDI) is included in a United Nations Development Programme. Human Development Report is compiled on the basis of estimates for any single year. It includes 185 member countries of the UNO (out of 193 in total), along with Hong Kong separately from PRC, and Palestine. Other eight UN member states are not included due to lack of data/statistics. The average HDI of different regions of the World and groups of countries are also included for comparison.
This Index  is a comparative measure of life expectancyliteracy rate, education and standards of living  worldwide. It is a standard means of measuring prosperity, especially child welfare. It is used to distinguish whether the country is a developed, a developing or an under-developed , and also to measure the impact of economic policies of thier governments on quality of life. The index was developed in 1990 by Pakistani economist Dr. Mahbub ul Haq[2] and Indian economist Amartya Sen.
Pakistan ranks 145th on this index that means the standard of living and quality of life is very very low here.

i-ELOOP , intelligent energy loop

Mazda Motor Corp. Japan has said on this Friday it has developed a way to improve the fuel economy(saving) of passenger cars by as much as 10% by using capacitors instead of batteries to capture energy(kinetic) lost during braking, which it said is a world first to use this technology in the world.
It will introduce the system, which it calls "intelligent energy loop" or "i-ELOOP", in its vehicles starting next year, 2012.
Mazda is working to boost the efficiency of gasoline(petrol) and diesel engine vehicles without the use of expensive hybrid systems that require electric motors and a separate battery to store energy  which is expensive as well.
The new braking system would boost mileage by above 5%  under Japan's official standards, but double that in real-world driving with frequent braking, frequent braking is more prevalent in developing countries, when air-conditioning and other electronic devices such as audio systems are used, a spokesman of the company said.
The automaker said its capacitor can be fully charged just in seconds by capturing kinetic energy released during braking, while it can also discharge electricity faster than existing batteries. Capacitors are also more resistant to deterioration through their prolonged use, it further added.
It is hoped that this technology will give Mazda an edge over other automakers and will boost its sales a lot.
