Mohajir Sooba:Leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are voicing the slogan to declare Karachi a Mohajir province and claim that it is the voice of millions of people of the biggest city of Pakistan who have been deprived of their rights despite the fact that Karachi contributes 70% in the nation’s total revenue.
“These people do not necessarily belong to the MQM. They are those who have been deprived of their rights,” said Waseem Aftab, a member of the MQM’s Rabita Committee, when asked about that some people in Orangi Town had been seen raising the slogan for a seperate Karachi province.
Waseem Aftab said that the PPP’s govt one-sided decisions had resulted in ethnic divisions in the city and the situation had now reached the point of no-return. He, however, added that the things could only return to normality if the PPP withdrew all its orders that it took during this week. “Such measures are creating frustration among the citizens, particularly youngsters”, he was most probably referring to restoration of commissionerate system in Karachi.
”If there could be Seraiki, Bhawalpur and other provinces then these deprived people can also raise voice for a separate province and the MQM cannot stop these people,” he sent the harsh message to PPP.
