Peoples Republic of China, a time tested friend, will help Pakistan generate 10,000 megawatt (MW) through different projects, said Wang Shaofeng, the DG of Three Gorges Project Corporation, to help overcome energy crisis. His corporation has built the world`s biggest hydroelectric power project `Three Gorges`.

While addressing to Pakistani reporters visiting China on the invitation of Radio China International on Sunday, he said under China-Pakistan collaboration, a number of Chinese experts were working in Pakistan on several different power projects.

Mr.WAng further told that solar energy projects had also been initiated in Pakistan by China and a 2 billion dollars 720MW Kohala project would be completed in a short period of time.

He said the Three Gorges Project now belonged to the world but Pakistan being the closest friend of PRC would be given priority to resolve its severe energy crisis which has resulted in slow growth.

Energy crisis in Pakistan has resulted in loss of output, increase in cost of doing business, slow growth and most importantly socio-political unrest.
