The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, issued a statement after its executive board meeting on Thursday that it has decided to conduct inquiries, into cases of illegal allotment of govt land by Revenue Department in violation of prescribed rules, amounting to millions of rupees in Dera Ismail Khan and embezzlement of funds of the Agency Education Office, North Waziristan Agency.
NAB says that 1,976 kanals piece of land was allotted to the Pakistan Navy for further allotment to its personnel and widows etc in recognition of their meritorious services. “Of this land the revenue officials got 33 kanals allotted to themselvess,” statement states.
“The land worth billions of rupees is located by a roadside in the heart of D.I. Khan city. Misusing their authority and setting aside all the prescribed rules and regulations the revenue officials have made this allotment illegally,” the Nab said.
The board meeting headed by Brig (rtd) Mohammad Musaddiq Abbasi , DG Nab Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , took cognizance of the case and authorised the inquiry. The directors, additional directors and other officers of Nab also attended the meeting, it said.
