Orya Maqbool Jan returns to the programme of "Walled City Project". At present the project is headed by Mr.Naheed Rizvi.
Punjab govt has not yet made any official announcement in this connection, PMLN chief Nawaz Sharif gave a green signal to Mr Jan’ to resume the office of DG after he presented an
‘impressive’ presentation to him at a meeting held at 90-Shahrah-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Lahore.
They said the core objective of the 3 hour long meeting was to brief the Nawaz on the Walled City project, its inception, aims and objectives and recommendations.He also gave an update about various aspects of other development projects launched within territorial jurisdiction of the Walled City. They included proposed food street and road network improvement, streets and infrastructure, sources added.
*29-04-2012: The project will be badly hurt as two main supporting pillars Aga Khan Trust for Culture and the World Bank are withdrawing in June and November respectively this year.
