Fake universities in Punjab(Pakistan), Lahore High Court seeks reply from Higher Education Commission

CJ Lahore High Court (LHC)Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Friday directed HEC and the federal government and once more to submit report regarding a petition against forty alleged fake universities and colleges in Punjab.
The hearing of the petition will resume in September after the summer vacation. Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffrey moved the petition in which he challenged mushroom growth of fake and illegal universities and colleges of different kinds in the Punjab. He submitted that a large number of fake education institutions without recognition, affiliation and accreditation had been functioning in Pakistan and doing fraud the youth for money. He said that the people were running the universities in residential buildings and without the required facilities.
