If US aid to Pakistan is cut it will be difficult for Pakistan to maintain heavy deployment on Pak-Afghan border and it may reduce its personnel deployed there. However Pak army has made it clear that any suspension of aid would not affect anti-terrorism fight, the Army will continue fighting war on terror with indigenous resources in Pakistan's own national interest.
These outcomes came at 140th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters on Tuesday with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in the chair.Army commanders also expressed their anger and displeasure over the continuous onslaught of US drone attacks in tribal belt.
“We will continue to raise our voices at every forum against these attacks as these were counterproductive in the war against terrorism,” the sources added. Pakistan military top bosses regretted that on one hand US appreciates Pakistan’s efforts in anti-terrorism but on the other it continued pressurising Pakistan through media onslaught suspecting Pakistan’s sincerity in spite of the fact that Pakistan has suffered the most and is still suffering than any other nation in the world.
