High population growth rate of Pakistan is the biggest hurdle to eradicate poverty

Very high population growth rate is the biggest problem in the way economic progress and eradicating poverty from the country. Population growth rate must be checked in order to increase availability of goods and services to all the people of Pakistan.
Addressing a ceremony on the World Population Day PM Gilani said it was very important to plan and balance population growth with country's resources, equitably and prudently.
He also said that Pakistan is the sixth most populous country in the world with growth rate at 2.03% per annum .PM further said that it is projected to reach 210.13m by the 2020, and would double in next 34 years therefore reducing poverty and making the nation prosperous is directly related with population growth .
