The KPK govt has decided to establish a new department to streamline revenue record and facilitate new settlements in the province.
CM Ameer Haider Khan Hoti had approved establishment of ‘settlement and consolidation department’ with effect from July 1 as rules of business and procedures for the working staff placement had been worked out, a senior official at Board of Revenue told a national newspaper here on Saturday.
The new dept will work under the supervision of Board of Revenue and its sole responsibility will be to undertake settlement and re-settlement of land and consolidate the ownership titles of the fragmented land record.
According to the said official, most of the property disputes are in the courts owing to flaws in the settlement and fragmented record of ownership. “This new department will take care of these issues,” he added.
