The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board wants to secure its land from grabbers

It has been learnt through print media that  Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has written a letter to the Town Municipal Officer Gulshan-e-Iqbal to take appropriate action against those mafia elements  who want to occupy and grab the high value and important land of KWSB around the Race Course Ground between Safoora Chowrangik and Malir Cantt check-post, Scheme-33, Karachi East.

It's quite common in Karachi and other parts of the country too that govt land is grabbed by land mafia with sometimes the connivance of politicians and govt officials and sell the land on fake documents or otherwise use it for monetary benefits. The govt seems helpless or disinterested or may be involved in the affirs but the valuable land of the nation needs protection at every cost.

The letter was addressed to the anti-encroachment cell and town police officer further requesting the authorities to mobilise against illegal occupation on KWSB land with immediate effect and ensure security until the boundary wall could be constructed to protect the land. It is not known that the authorities concerned have taken any action so far or not but we are hopeful that they will not sit idle.
